Style: 5 (Excellent!) Substance: 4 (Meaty) ...

A racing-car card game that is equal parts exciting, evocative, well-themed, and well-designed! ...

Street Illegal is a serious car-racing card game. There's the randomness that you'd expect in this type of game, but there are also a number of well-designed and intricate systems centering around card management, resource management, and blind bidding. This one is well worth checking out, especially since it's Heinrich Glumpler's first US distribution, and he's been doing fine and original work for a bit.

Very interesting mechanism where the cars are placed on a small board to [indicate] their relative position. To win must you be able to end the game with your car in pole position.
... Very clever game mechanism.

Fette Autos is another good example of how a small publisher can do it right, by Edition [Erlkoenig]. A good game, nicely presented with components matching those of the established companies' games for quality, being sold for a realistic and reasonable price. ... Like Formel Fun, it runs to a nice length, has a reasonable mix of luck and planning, and delivers a neat little game. ... It gets a solid 8/10 at the moment, based on one race at the show, and I'm looking forward to the next time I can play it.

I like the overtaking rules and the control you have over your car, its speed and the planning to meet the track conditions. Early games have been very enjoyable.

I think you have a fantastic game here - even though it is abstract - I feel like I am driving a car - well done.
